The current owners of United Metal Products, Duncan and Leonard MacEachern, with Mike Mattel, bought the metal stamping company in 2007 at a critical juncture in the company’s history. With the experienced staff of UMP, the transition was seamless for customers. Throughout the challenges within the industry, UMP’s owners have chosen to guard their employees’ jobs when tough decision had to be made as well as to expand our customer base outside of automotive circles. UMP is also in the process of acquiring HUBZone certification.

Expanding Capacity to Accommodate Customer Needs

Investing in our own future, UMP recently finished a complete overhaul of its 600 ton Minster press. In addition to increasing capacity, the changes to the press allow for “quick die changes.” Faster tooling changes allow for quicker turnaround from order entry to completion and more efficiency at UMP.
